Who We AreThe Carton Council of Canada is a group of carton manufacturers united to deliver long term collaborative solutions in order to divert valuable cartons from disposal.
As a group of carton manufacturing companies, we are proud that carton packaging has amongst the lowest environmental impact within the packaging industry. We seek to reduce this impact further by increasing carton recycling across Canada.
Carton Council of Canada™ (CCC) provides a platform for carton manufacturers in Canada to benchmark and profile cartons as renewable, recyclable and low-carbon packaging solutions. Engaging with stakeholders and partners seeking high environmental stewardship, it contributes expertise to environmental policy and legislation. Carton Council of Canada members work together to demonstrate that carton packaging is the smart green choice today and in the future.
CCC was established in 2010. It replicates similar associative models that have been put in place, including the Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE) in Europe, and the Carton Council of North America. Working together member companies drive joint efforts to grow carton recycling. CCC’s goal is to build a sustainable carton recycling value chain. Our efforts focus on driving collaboration among key stakeholders that can effectively grow carton recycling, ensuring adequate legislation and promoting greater understanding of carton recycling throughout the value chain.
And our key priorities include:
- Drive Consumer Education
- Work with processors to sort cartons into separate grade
- Facilitate strong North American end-markets for cartons
- Share our knowledge and industry expertise with governments to promote attainable waste diversion goals
